Green Chili Chutney - Green Chilli Chutney Recipe
Ingredients:
- 10-12 fresh green chilies (adjust quantity based on desired spiciness)
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 3-4 garlic cloves
- 1/2 cup fresh coriander leaves (cilantro)
- 1 tablespoon tamarind pulp (or tamarind paste)
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- Salt to taste
- Water (as needed)
- Optional: 1 teaspoon roasted cumin seeds
- Begin by rinsing the fresh green chilies under cold water. Remove the stems, but you can keep the seeds for a spicier chutney or remove them for a milder version.
- In a blender or food processor, add the green chilies, chopped onion, garlic cloves, fresh coriander leaves, tamarind pulp, lemon juice, and salt. If you prefer, you can also add roasted cumin seeds for additional flavor.
- Blend the ingredients until you achieve a smooth paste. If needed, you can add a little water to adjust the consistency and make it easier to blend.
- Taste the chutney and adjust the seasoning according to your preference. You can add more salt, lemon juice, or green chilies if desired.
- Once blended to the desired consistency, transfer the green chili chutney to a clean container or jar.
- Serve the green chili chutney as a condiment with snacks like samosas, pakoras, dosas, or as a side with main meals. It adds a spicy and tangy kick to your dishes.
- You can store the chutney in the refrigerator for up to a week. If you want to store it for a longer period, you can freeze it in small portions and thaw as needed.
Enjoy the vibrant and fiery flavor of homemade green chili chutney!
