Fried rice is a versatile and delicious dish that can be made with various ingredients. Here's a general recipe to help you cook fried rice:

Ingredients:
  • 2 cups cooked rice (preferably leftover rice)
  • 1 cup mixed vegetables (carrots, peas, bell peppers, corn, etc.), finely chopped
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2-3 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Spring onions or cilantro for garnish (optional)
Instructions:
  1. Heat oil in a large pan or wok over medium heat.
  2. Add the minced garlic and chopped onions to the pan. Sauté until the onions become translucent and the garlic becomes fragrant.
  3. Push the onions and garlic to one side of the pan and pour the beaten eggs into the other side. Scramble the eggs and cook until they are lightly set.
  4. Add the chopped mixed vegetables to the pan and stir-fry for a few minutes until they are slightly cooked but still retain their crunch.
  5. Add the cooked rice to the pan. Break up any clumps of rice with a spatula and mix it well with the vegetables, onions, and eggs.
  6. Drizzle soy sauce and oyster sauce (if using) over the rice. Stir-fry everything together, ensuring that the rice is evenly coated with the sauces.
  7. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Be cautious with the salt as soy sauce is already salty.
  8. Continue to stir-fry the rice mixture for a few more minutes until everything is well combined and heated through.
  9. Taste and adjust the seasoning or sauce according to your preference.
  10. Once the fried rice is ready, remove it from heat.
  11. Garnish with chopped spring onions or cilantro, if desired, for added freshness and flavor.
  12. Serve the fried rice hot as a main course or as a side dish alongside your favorite Chinese or Asian-inspired dishes.
Note: You can customize your fried rice by adding proteins like cooked chicken, shrimp, or tofu, and additional ingredients like diced ham, pineapple chunks, or cashew nuts. You can also use different sauces or seasonings to suit your taste.
