To cook Bread Dosa, you'll need a few simple ingredients and a few easy steps. Here's a step-by-step guide:

Ingredients:
  • 4-5 slices of bread
  • 1 cup semolina (rava)
  • 1/2 cup rice flour
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour (maida)
  • 1/4 cup yogurt (curd)
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 1 small tomato, finely chopped
  • 1-2 green chilies, finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoons fresh coriander leaves, chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • Salt to taste
  • Water (as needed)
  • Oil or ghee (clarified butter) for cooking
Instructions:

1. Preparation:
  • Trim the edges of the bread slices and cut them into small pieces.
  • Soak the bread pieces in water for a few seconds, then squeeze out the excess water.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the soaked bread pieces, semolina, rice flour, all-purpose flour, yogurt, chopped onions, tomatoes, green chilies, coriander leaves, cumin seeds, and salt.
  • Mix everything together well to form a thick and smooth batter.
  • Add water gradually, if needed, to adjust the consistency of the batter. It should be similar to regular dosa batter.
2. Cooking Bread Dosa:
  • Heat a non-stick dosa tawa or griddle over medium heat.
  • Once the tawa is hot, pour a ladleful of the bread dosa batter onto the center of the tawa.
  • Using the back of the ladle, spread the batter in a circular motion to form a thin dosa.
  • Drizzle a little oil or ghee around the edges of the dosa and on top.
  • Cook the dosa for a few minutes until the bottom turns golden brown and crispy.
  • Flip the dosa and cook the other side for another minute or so.
  • Remove the bread dosa from the tawa and serve hot.
  • Repeat the process with the remaining batter to make more bread dosas.
3. Serving:
  • Serve the bread dosa hot with your choice of chutney or sambar.
  • You can also serve it with tomato ketchup or a dollop of butter.
  • Enjoy the crispy and flavorful bread dosa as a breakfast or snack option.
Bread dosa is a quick and easy variation of traditional dosa, perfect for times when you want a tasty and satisfying meal with minimal effort.
