Simple Guide to make Bread Dosa - Bread Dosa Recipe
Ingredients:
- 4-5 slices of bread
- 1 cup semolina (rava)
- 1/2 cup rice flour
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour (maida)
- 1/4 cup yogurt (curd)
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 1 small tomato, finely chopped
- 1-2 green chilies, finely chopped
- 2 tablespoons fresh coriander leaves, chopped
- 1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds
- Salt to taste
- Water (as needed)
- Oil or ghee (clarified butter) for cooking
1. Preparation:
- Trim the edges of the bread slices and cut them into small pieces.
- Soak the bread pieces in water for a few seconds, then squeeze out the excess water.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the soaked bread pieces, semolina, rice flour, all-purpose flour, yogurt, chopped onions, tomatoes, green chilies, coriander leaves, cumin seeds, and salt.
- Mix everything together well to form a thick and smooth batter.
- Add water gradually, if needed, to adjust the consistency of the batter. It should be similar to regular dosa batter.
- Heat a non-stick dosa tawa or griddle over medium heat.
- Once the tawa is hot, pour a ladleful of the bread dosa batter onto the center of the tawa.
- Using the back of the ladle, spread the batter in a circular motion to form a thin dosa.
- Drizzle a little oil or ghee around the edges of the dosa and on top.
- Cook the dosa for a few minutes until the bottom turns golden brown and crispy.
- Flip the dosa and cook the other side for another minute or so.
- Remove the bread dosa from the tawa and serve hot.
- Repeat the process with the remaining batter to make more bread dosas.
- Serve the bread dosa hot with your choice of chutney or sambar.
- You can also serve it with tomato ketchup or a dollop of butter.
- Enjoy the crispy and flavorful bread dosa as a breakfast or snack option.
